Solenoid Valve

A solenoid valve is an electromechanical device used to control the flow of fluid or gas. It operates by using an electromagnetic coil to open or close a valve mechanism, allowing or preventing the flow of the fluid or gas through the valve.

Here's how it generally works:

Electromagnetic Coil: A solenoid valve has a coil of wire wound around a core. When an electric current passes through the coil, it creates a magnetic field.

Valve Mechanism: The magnetic field generated by the coil interacts with a plunger or armature, which is attached to the valve mechanism. When the coil is energized, it attracts the plunger or armature, causing the valve to open.

Flow Control: When the valve is open, fluid or gas can flow through the valve. When the electric current to the coil is turned off, the magnetic field collapses, releasing the plunger or armature and allowing the valve to close.

Solenoid valves are commonly used in various applications, including controlling the flow of water, gas, air, and other fluids in industrial processes, HVAC systems, irrigation systems, automotive systems, and more. They offer fast response times, precise control, and are relatively easy to automate using electrical signals.
